I believe in the potential of the raw talents in our land. We as a country have the opportunity to groom them to be the best in the world. This is my belief not a desire, which is based on recruiting talents for the last decade and a half while serving in organizations small and large in the US, UK and India.
Although, Now is the time to seize this opportunity in front of us; we have work to do to get there.
- Firstly we need to recognize that competition is intensifying around the globe - So “wait and watch” is not an option for us to maitain our fame as a land of intrinsic talents and the first choice for skilled workforce.
- Secondly, we must work towards significantly enhancing the “impact” of Technical Education. The reason being, on the ground today, Technical Education is largely a one-way “delivery model” thru class room lectures, followed by minimal practice and tests. It needs re-tooling to be a two-way “learning model” using the rigor of “Project Based Team Learning”, to realize the true impact of learning. Research indicates, the learning impact is the most when one prepares himself/herself to teach others.
- Finally, this two-way model must be sustainable to maintain our competitive edge. Therefore, a holistic approach to Technical Education via an educational eco-system that “evolves” continuously by collaborating with Industry and Research Organization is required. This holistic model must not just mentor our students to secure good grades in exams, but help the students develop the required technical leadership skills and shape their attitude. Our Philosophy is "Attitude over Aptitude".
