Dr. Kapileswar Mishra,M.Tech,Ph.D(Director)
Prof. Department of Civil Engineering

Prof. Kapileswar Mishra received Ph.D in Civil Engineering from IIT, Kharagpur. His research interests are in the area of land and water management. Prof. Mishra has more than 17 years of teaching experience at various engineering institutions in Orissa, Chhatishgarh and Andhra Pradesh. He has served as the principal of several institutions prior to joining at BIT, Bhubaneswar. He has been involved with various development programs on land and water management and served as an advisor to various agencies including, YARR, SRISTI, Bhubaneswar GROUPE SCE INDIA. Prof Mishra is active in designing, planning, and implementing water harvesting structures and watershed management programs. He has also served as a facilitator-cum-Project Evaluator of Council for Advancement of Peoples Action and Rural Technology (CAPART), Ministry of Rural Development, Govt. of India during 2002-2005.

Prof. Mishra is a recipient of National Scholarship, Gold Medal from IE (I), National Doctoral Fellowship from All India Council of Technical Education, New Delhi. He has published research papers in different National and International Journals and Conference Proceedings. He is a member of the Institution of Engineers (India), International Association of Hydrological Sciences, Indian Society of Technical Education, Orissa Engineering Congress, Indian Society of Rock Mechanics and Tunnel Technology, Indian Society of Hydraulics, Indian Water Resources Society, and Indian Association of Hydrologist.


Ms.Sagarika Panda,B.Tech
Lecturer in Civil Engineering


Mrs. Sagarika Panda has compleated her B.Tech(Civil Engineering) in 2010. She is now persuing M.Tech in Structural Engineering at CET. She has also completed CAD/CAM training from CTTC, Bhubaneswar. Mrs. Panda has done a live project of strengthening & widening of existing road from Jatni to Kapilprasad.

Dr. Prabhat K. Sahu, Ph.D
Asst Professor in Department  of Chemistry


Dr. Prabhat Sahu obtained Ph.D. from National Chung Cheng University, Taiwan in 2006. Prior to this he completed M.Sc. Degree in 1996 with specialization of Physical Chemistry and M.Phil in 1997 from Sambalpur University. Dr. Sahu held postdoctoral researcher positions at National Science Council at Taiwan during 2006-2007 and at University of Wurzburg, Germany during 2009-2010. He was an Alexander Humboldt Fellow at University of Wurzburg, Germany during 2007-2009. Prior to accepting the offer at BIT, he was serving as Research Associate at Taiwan. Dr. Sahu’s research interest lies in the areas of Computer Aided Drug Design: Characterization of Inhibition Mechanism and Drug-Target Complex; Renewable energy, Sustainability and Environment: Bio-inspired Materials and Processes, New Design of Catalysts at the Nanoscale; Co-operativity Effect on Bio-Rare Gas Molecules to understand life in space and Applications and Development of information theoretic topological index Ik. He has published 26 research articles in International Journals and Conferences.


Dr. Nabakumar Pramanik, ph.D
Asst Professor in Department  of Chemistry


Dr. Nabakumar Pramanik, obtained his PhD from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur in 2009. He completed his M. Sc in Applied Chemistry from Bengal Engineering and Science University (BESU) in 2003. During 2009-10 he was a Research Associate in Materials Science Centre, IIT Kharagpur. Dr. Pramanik served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), Taiwan, since March 2010 to March, 2011 prior to selecting BIT, Bhbaneswar as his place of working.


Mr. Binayak Dihudi, Msc, M.Phil
Sr. Lecturer in Mathematics.


Mr. Dihudi is Sr. Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics.He has more than 6 years of experience in teaching undergraduate students of BPUT. Prior to his joining, he has worked 3 years as a resource person of Distance Education Cell (DEC), Currently he is pursuing Ph. D in the Department of Mathematics, Berhampur University. His area of interest is "Stability and Asymptotic behavior of solutions of difference and differential equations". Apart from this, Mr. Dihudi has published two research articles in the journals of international repute.


Mr.Prafulla Chandra Das, M.sc(Math,Statistics)
Lecturer in Mathematics.

Mr. Das is a Lecturer in Mathematics. He has over 7 years of experience in Academic field. His area of interest are Analysis(Real and Complex), Linear Algebra and Differential equation(Ordinary and Partial). As a teacher, Mr. Das is known for his patience to work with students at various levels.


Mr.Jyoti Ranjan Mohanty, M.Sc, M.Phil
Lecturer in Physics


Mr. Jyoti Ranjan Mohanty is a lecturer in the department of physics of BIT. He obtained his BSc and MSc from Utkal University in 2005 and 2007 respectively and his MPhil degree is from Berhampur University in 2009. His current research focus is on Ion beam synthesis and modification of nanostructured materials, Surface nanostructuring by ion beams, Ion beam and metal induced epitaxial crystallization. He is having 2 publications, one in a national and the other one in International journal. He has served as a faculty in the department of physics in various reputed institutes like GITAM Bhubaneswar, SCS college Puri, CET college Bhubaneswar and NIT, Bhubaneswar in a span of 4 years .He has attended a summer project in the year 2006 in National Centre for Radio Astronomy (NCRA) a parent institute of TIFR,Mumbai for 2 months. He has been a part of the DAE-BRNS seminar cum workshop organised by IOP during April, 2008. He has presented a paper in International Conference on Ion-beam Induced Nanopatterning of Materials (IINM-2011) organised by IOP during February, 2011. He is also a life time member in Orissa Physical Society (OPS) as well as in Samanta Chandra Shekhar Amature Astronomers Association (SCAAA).


Ms. Rasmita Mohapatra, M.Sc
Lecturer in Physics


Miss Mohapatra is continuing her Ph.D in Meterial Science in F.M. University,Balasore.
Her research activities are basically on “HIGH Tc SUPERCONDUCTIVITY". She has completed M.Sc. Physics with Solid State Physics as special paper. Also she has completed Master In Computer Application from Ignou. She has two years teaching experience in under graduate level and three years of teaching experience in graduate level.
Her areas of interest are Material Science & Engineering, Quantum Mechanics and
Mathematical Physics.

Mr. Somanath Das, M.Tech
Asst. Prof. Computer Science Engg.
Mr Das is an Asst. Prof in the department of Computer Science. He has 7 years of teaching experience in under graduate and post-graduate level. His area of interest is Cryptography and Pattern recognition. He taught a very wide range of subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Numerical and Statistical methods, Design and Analysis of algorithms, Computer graphics, C–programming lang., QT-I, QT-II., Theory of Automata, AI. He also developed a project named “EduAid” - An Educational Aid for data structure to simplify teaching in data structure.

Mr. Nikhil Gupta, Ph.D Candidate Texas A&M University, USA
Asst. Prof in Department of Computer Science & Engineering
Nikhil Gupta obtained his B.Tech in Computer Science from IIT Guwahati in 2006. He has completed his coursework towards Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering at Texas A&M University. He will defend his dissertation in October 2011. Mr. Gupta’s research interests are Low-power Embedded Systems, Operating Systems, and Multiprocessor Systems. He has been a teaching assistant to Graduate and Undergraduate courses for three years at Texas A&M University. He has undergone summer internship at VMware, USA in 2007 and 2010. Nikhil ranked second in the National level Algorithm contest of Techniche, the annual technical festival of Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, India, in 2004 and Ranked fifth in Regional Mathematical Olympiad, Assam, India, in 1998. He has considered BIT Bhubaneswar as his place of working since Summer 2011.

Mrs. Sonali Routray, M.Tech
Asst Professor in Department of Computer Science & Engineering


Mrs. Routray has received her M.Tech degree in Computer Science from BPUT, Odisha. She has specialization in Compiler Construction, RDBMS, Advanced Architecture and Dist. OS. Her field of interest is Data Mining. She has 4 years of teaching and research experience. Mrs. Routray organized several conferences and seminars at GIET Gunupur.  She has also guided several projects for MCA and B.Tech Students. Mrs. Routray is one of the life members of ISTE (Indian Society for Technical Education).


Mr.Niroj Pani, M.Tech
Asst.Professor in Department of Computer Science and Engg.

Mr. Pani obtained his M. Tech in Computer Science & Engineering with specialization in information security from NIT, Rourkela in 2009. He has more than 6 years of rich experience in both academics and software industry. He started his career as a senior lecturer in Indian Institute of Science & Information Technology, where he had taught a very wide range of subjects like Object Oriented Programming, data Structures, Analysis & Design of Algorithms, Operating Systems, Database Engineering, and Computer Networks. Prior to joining BIT he was working with ProcessMAP as a senior software analyst. His research interest includes Wireless & Ad-Hoc Networking, Mobile Communication and Network Security. He has two research articles published in international journals, one international seminar proceeding, and a book published under LAP international, Germany.


Ms.Rashmita Mohanty, B.Tech
Lecturer in Computer Science and Engg.


Ms. Rashmita Mohanty completed B.Tech in CSE from CVRCE, BBSR in2006. Currently She is now pursuing M.Tech in Computer Science at NMIET, Bhubaneswar under BPUT,Odisha. She has obtained 5 yrs of teaching experience in GHITM, Puri. Ms.Mohanty has conducted degree level seminars in GHITM, Puri. She has attended a seminar on modern Trends In Operating System”held in KIST,Bhubaneswar. Her area of interest is Computer architecture and Oragnization, and Computer Networking.

Mr. Satyasen Panda is an Assistant Professor and HOD in Electronics & Communication Engineering Dept. He obtained his B.Tech (Electronics & Communication Engineering) from UCE,Burla currently VSSUT University, ORISSA and M.Tech (VLSI Design and Embedded system) from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela. He has one year of industry experience and more than 10 years of teaching experience in various engineering colleges in Orissa, where he taught various subjects like Basic Electronics, Digital Electronics, Network Theory, Analog Electronics Engineering, Microwave Engineering, Antenna & Wave propagation, Electromagnetic Fields & Waves, Digital Signal Processing, VLSI Design, and Embedded Systems. His research interests include DSP, Antenna, and VLSI Design.


 Mr. Arun Kumar Prusty, M.Tech
 
Assistant Professor in Electronics and Communication Engineering

Mr Prusty obtained his early education from Berhampur University in Electronics followed by M.Tech in Bioelectronics during 2004-06 from Tezpur University(a central university).During his M.Tech he was attached to Biomolecual electronics& conducting polymer group, National Physical Laboratoy, New Delhi to carryout his dissertation work in the field of biosenor and instrumentation from 2005-06. He worked as a researcher abroad during 2006-08. After that he worked about a year under Punjab Technical university,currently he is an Asst.Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at BIT, Bhubaneswar. He has four years of teaching experience before joining at BIT. His areas of interest are molecular sensors, instrumentation and digital signal processing.


Mr. Samit Kumar Ghosh, M.Tech
 
Assistant Professor in Electronics and Communication Engineering

Mr. Ghosh is an Assistant Professor in Electronics & Communication Engineering Dept. He obtained his B.Tech (Electronics & Communication Engineering) from Kalyani University, West Bengal and M.Tech (Electronics System & Communication) from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela. He has one year of industry experience and more than 7 years of teaching experience in various engineering colleges in Orissa, West Bengal where he taught various subjects like Basic Electronics, Digital Electronics, Network Theory, Analog Electronics Engineering, Microwave Engineering, Antenna & Wave propagation, Electromagnetic Fields & Waves, Digital Signal Processing, VLSI Design, and Embedded Systems. His research interests include Microwave Engineering, Microstrip Antenna, Electromagnetic and VLSI Design.


  Mr. Dharanidhar Dang, B.Tech
 
Lecturer in Electronics and Communication Engineering

  
Mr. Dharanidhar Dang completed his B.tech in Instrumentation and Electronics Engineering at College of Engineering & Technology, Bhubaneswar in 2010. He has three international publications. Mr. Dang has been honored with a Gold Medal by Intel Corporation for his invention on Crop Protection. He has been certified by Schneider Electric (Global leader in Energy management) as the most innovative student of India and also awarded with cash prize. He got the best B.tech thesis award for his final year project. After completing his B.tech, Mr. Dang joined Tata Power as a control Engineer. At TATA he was awarded with the Best Research model for one of his project. His research interests are Digital signal Processing, VLSI design, and wireless sensor network. Prior to joining the ECE department, he was an embedded research fellow at Intel Corporation.
   

Mr. Siddhartha Sankar Rout,B.Tech
Lecturer in Electronics and Communication Engineering

Mr.Siddhartha Sankar Rout has complteted B.Tech Degree in the year 2008. During his school period he was among the top ten students of Orissa BSE examination.He has trained as project trainee on FPGA programming from CG-Corel, Bangalore.He has Worked as project engineer for 1.5 years in VLSI domain in WIPRO Technology, Bangalore. Before coming to BIT. He has teaching experience of 1 year in ECE dept in KITE, Bhubaneswar. He has also worked as a trainer for FPGA programming.

Mr. Sidheswar Routray,B.Tech
Lecturer in Electronics and Communication Engineering

Mr. Sidheswar Routray completed his B.Tech in Electronics & Tele-communication Engineering in 2009. He is now perusing M.Tech in ETC at BPUT, Orissa . He has 3 years of teaching experiences in engineering colleges in Orissa, where he taught various subjects like Digital Signal Processing, Adaptive Signal Processing, Analog Communication Technique, Signal & System, Analog Electronics Circuit, Digital Electronics Circuit, and Basic Electronics. Prior to his joining at BIT, he was working as Lecturer at Krupajal Engineering College, Bhubaneswar. His research interests include DSP, ASP.

Mr. Sivkumar Mishra, M.Tech
Associate Professor in Electrical & Electronics Engineering



Mr. Mishra  is presently an Associate Professor in Electrical & Electronics Engineering at BIT,obtained his B.E (Electrical Engg.) from Regional Engineering College,Jaipur (presently  known as N.I.T, Jaipur)  and M.Tech (Power System Engg.) from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He has over 12 years of teaching experience in G.H.ITM,Puri, where he has hold several important administrative responsibilities. He has published several papers in international, national journals. His research interests include power distribution system analysis and power system analysis. 


Mr. Prabhash Nanda
Senior Lecturer in Electrical & Electronics Engineering



Prof. Prabhash Nanda graduated in Electrical 
Engineering from IGIT, Sarang during 1992. He has more than 16 years of experience in various industries such as Tiltronix India, Modi Xerox, PEP Infotech and Sun Electronics. He has also 2 years of teaching experience at 
Meerut Institute of Engineering. He is currently pursuing M.Tech in Energy sytems and Management.

Prof. Nanda has developed his core competency in developing training programs and skill enhancement for employees at industries that he served earlier. He makes training calendar, organize workshops and develop training modules. His team management skill involves leading, recruiting, training and monitoring the performance of employees. He creates a dynamic environment that fosters career development opportunities and motivates on high performance.

Prof. Nanda received "President’s Gold" for Customer Care in 1995, "Ultimate Stake Award" Customer Satisfaction on Service Parameters (survey conducted by ORG Marg) in 1996 & 1997, "Grand Slam" Winner for 100% Customer satisfaction & Nationally No. 1 in 1999 and awarded Gold Medal at All India Level for the KAIZEN project on application of principles of Leadership Through Quality (LTQ).

Abhisek Kumar Behera obtained his M.Tech in Power Control and Drives from NIT Rourkela in 2011 and B. Tech in Electrical Engineering from OSME Keonjhar (BPUT) in 2008. Presently, He is working as Asst.Prof in the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering at Bhubaneswar Institute of Technology. His research interest includes Control of under actuated Systems (Flexible Link Robots, Inverted Pendulum) and Application of Evolutionary Computing techniques.


Mrs. Solony Pattnaik, B.Tech

I have 03 years of teaching experiences ,two years in CET, BBSR & one year in GHITM ,PURI. I am continuing my M.Tech in IIT Kharagpur. I have attained various faculty developed programme (FDP) in various Engg. Colleges in state & outside of the state lastly held in IIT Kharagpur & NIST Berhumpur. Also conducted degree level Seminars in GHITM & CET. I have kept keen interest in the field of research and development in the area of power electronics & drives, & machine analysis. Also I enjoy surfing net, teaching & reading novels in my leisure time. Again I would like to add that Teaching is my passion & I enjoy it a lot.


Ms.Diptimayee Jena, B.Tech

Ms.Diptimayee Jena has completed B.Tech Program in EEE from Silicon Institute of Technology, BBSR in the year 2010. She has obtained 1yrs experience in Ghanasyam Hemalata Institute of Technology, Puri. Ms.Jena has conducted degree level seminars in GHITM, Puri. Her area of interest is Control Systems Engineering.

Mr. Susant K. Jena, B.Tech
Lecturer in Mechanical Engg.

Mr Susant K Jena is a Lecturer in the department of Mechanical Engg. He has 10 years of industry experience prior to join at BIT in 2009. Mr. Jena has successfully completed Pump Development project that used a simple fuel injection system for a single cylinder four-stroke SI engine. Mr. Jena provides diligent services at BIT and involved in multiple activities that are student directed. Mr. Jena’s interest lies in fluid flow and fuel injection systems. He is pursuing his M.Tech in Mechanical Engg. while at BIT.

Mr. Kailash Mohapatra,M.Tech
Asst.Professeor in Mechanical Engineering.

Mr Kailash Mohapatra is an Assistant Professor in the department of Mechanical Engineering. He has 20 years of technical & teaching experience in Indian Air Force . He has also got one year teaching experience at Eklavya College of Technology & Science, where he has hold several important administrative responsibilities including Principal in charge prior to join at BIT. He has done his M Tech  at Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra (Ranchi)  in Heat Power Engineering &  he has also registered for his Ph.D work at SOA University, Bhubaneswar.
Mr. Mohapatra's areas of interests are in Fluid Mechanics & Hydraulic Machines, CFD, Heat Transfer, Mechanics and Thermal engineering etc. He takes interests in student activities very much.

Mr. Purna Chandra Routray, B.Tech
Lecturer in Mechanical Engg.

Mr. Purna Chandra Routray is a B.E in  Mechanical Engineering, graduated in 2005. Prior to his joining at BIT, he has one year teaching and two years of industry experiences. 

Mr. Routray's areas of interests are in CAD/CAM, Auto CAD, Engineering Drawing, and Thermal engineering etc. He takes interests in student activities very much.

Mr.Bhabani Prasad Mahapatra, M.A
Senior Lecturer in Economics

Mr.Bhabani Prasad Mahapatra has 8 years of experience in teaching Economics at different under graduate and post graduate institutions. He has taught Economics at ICFAI National College Bhubaneswar, ICFAI National College, Cuttack, Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar as visiting faculty. Before joining Bhubaneswar Institute of Technology (BIT), he was working as a faculty member in Gandhi Institute for Technology(Bhubaneswar). He has taught papers like Managerial Economics, Engineering Economics and costing, Organisation Behaviour, Research Methodology, Business Ethics and corporate governance.

Currently he pursues PhD on “Food security “. He has presented  several research papers on food security,women empowerment,Special economic zone ,climate change.He has published  some articles in reputed Journals and conference compendium.

Mr. Mahapatra holds an MA in Economics from Berhampur University,Orissa with Mathematical Economics and Econometrics as special papers and a post graduate diploma in Economics from Madras school of Economics,Chennai. Currently he pursues PhD in Food security in Berhampur University,Odisha .


Mr.Nilamadhab Panda

Prof. Nilamadhab Panda MA, M.Phil, PhD (CIEFL) (Thesis submitted) has 13 years of experience in various capacities. He worked as a Asst. Prof in  English  in  Prestigious Engg.Colleges of AP -BEC, Bapatla (autonomous),VITS(Vigan group,Hyderabad), MIST, Hyderabad. He has published & presented 8 research papers in International & National Journals. He was a Soft Skills trainer for Satyam,STP, Hyderabad. His area of interest is cross-culture communication, ELT, SoftSkills and Business Communications. He is specialised in CALL(Computer Aided Language Lab). He is also interested in Personality Development Programme.


Mrs. Priti Priyadarsini Tripathy, M.A
Lecturer in English.

Mrs.tripathy is a Lecturer in the Dept. of English. She is a post graduate scholar from Ravenshaw University and has more than one years of teaching experience in undergraduate level. She has specialization in linguistics phonetics.
